  • Why is preventative maintenance important?
Preventative maintenance helps identify potential issues before they become serious problems, ensuring your vehicle remains safe and reliable. Regular servicing can extend the life of your car, improve performance, and save you money by avoiding major repairs.
  • What does an EV service involve?

  • Can you service hybrid vehicles as well?
Yes, we can service hybrid vehicles. Hybrid cars combine petrol engines with electric motors, so our team is experienced in handling both components to ensure your hybrid runs efficiently.
  • Do EVs require brake pad replacements?
Yes, even though EVs use regenerative braking, which reduces wear on brake pads, they still require brake pad replacements over time. Regenerative braking captures energy, but traditional brakes are still used, especially during emergency stops or when the regenerative system can’t handle the full load.
  • How often should I rotate my tyres?
The recommended frequency for tyre rotation varies depending on factors such as the type of vehicle, tyre type, driving habits, and road conditions. As a general guideline, it is typically recommended to rotate your tyres every 8,000 to 13,000 kilometres, or every six months, whichever comes first. Regular tyre rotation promotes even wear among all tires, ensuring balanced handling, better traction, and extending the overall tire life. However, it’s best to consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or seek advice from a trusted tyre professional to determine the specific rotation interval that suits your vehicle and driving conditions.
  • How long does an EV service take?
An EV service typically takes about the same amount of time as a conventional service — around 1 to 2 hours, depending on what’s needed. We’ll check your battery, electrical systems, brakes, tyres, and ensure all software is up-to-date.

  • Do electric vehicles (EVs) require as much maintenance as petrol or diesel cars?
EVs generally require less maintenance than petrol or diesel cars because they have fewer moving parts. There’s no need for oil changes, fuel filters, or spark plugs. However, EVs still need regular servicing for brakes, tyres, suspension, and battery health checks to ensure long-term reliability.
  • How do I know if my EV battery needs replacing?
EV batteries are designed to last many years, but signs of degradation may include reduced range, slow charging, or unusual dashboard alerts. If you notice any of these issues, we recommend bringing your EV in for a battery health check. At Annanda, we use specialised diagnostics to assess the condition of your EV battery.

The specific reasons for the check engine light can vary widely, ranging from minor issues like a loose gas cap to more serious problems with engine sensors, exhaust system, ignition system, or fuel delivery system.
